In December,  Libertyville Township gave out food to 166 households, which consisted of 465  individuals.   During this month, we received food/money donations for the Food Pantry from Libertyville First Presbyterian Church, Libertyville Sunrise Rotary Club, Grace Lutheran Church, United Methodist Church, Libertyville Jr. Woman’s Club, Condell Child Care Center,  AbbVie, Heather’s Gym, USA Fire Protection, Libertyville Woman’s Club, Cook Memorial Public Library Staff,  Town and Country Garden Club, Main Street Libertyville Inc., St. Basil of Ostrog Church,  Focus Commercial Property, Bourbon and Poker 2018, Axiom Marketing, First Institute, Target-Lake Bluff, Com Ed, Kinder Korner Pre-School, North Shore Corvette Club, Brochu Orthodontics, Libertyville Bank and Trust,  and a number of private individuals.

We received weekly donations from Jewel-Libertyville and Mariano’s-Vernon Hills. We are happy to announce that we will now be receiving donations from the new Aldi in Vernon Hills!

The week before Christmas we gave food to 112 households.   This included 62 Christmas dinner boxes..  These dinner boxes were provided by Libertyville Sunrise Rotary Club,  Libertyville Jewel - Osco, and Order of Eastern Star #438 and private individuals.

We received a large toy donation from Aqua Plumbing, Korman/Lederer, and Brookdale Hawthorn Lakes. We also received a toy donation from Allied Air Conditioning and Heating. These donations made it possible for 37 families who use our food pantry to pick gifts and books for their children.

This holiday season 8 organizations and private individuals sponsored 17 families through our Libertyville Township Holiday Giving Program.

Volunteer workers and donations of nonperishable foods are always appreciated. We request that you schedule ahead with the Township if your organization is planning a food collection so we can coordinate pickup by Township personnel. Monetary tax deductible donations (payable to the Libertyville Township Gift Fund) are used to purchase food through our partnership with the Northern Illinois Food Bank at greatly reduced prices.
