In April, Libertyville Township gave out food to 156 households, which consisted of 461 individuals. During this month, we received food/money donations for the Food Pantry from Libertyville First Presbyterian Church, Libertyville Sunrise Rotary Club, Sub-Zero Group Midwest, Adler School Family Association, a local 8th grade confirmation group, Northeast Illinois Council – Boy Scouts of America, Grace Lutheran Church, Pigtale Twist, Community Protestant Church and a number of private individuals. We received weekly donations from Jewel-Libertyville and Mariano’s.
The outpouring of generosity from our community in giving food items and monetary donations has been absolutely amazing.
Volunteer workers and donations of nonperishable foods are always appreciated. We request that you schedule ahead with the Township if your organization is planning a food collection so we can coordinate pickup by Township personnel. Monetary tax deductible donations (payable to the Libertyville Township Gift Fund) are used to purchase food through our partnership with the Northern Illinois Food Bank at greatly reduced prices.
