Tree Planting Event Update!

Due to site conditions and significant threat of thunderstorms, the Saturday, October 14th work day has been canceled. There are 2 additional work days scheduled from 9am - 1pm on October 21st and October 28th. The location will be a short distance west of the intersection of Casey and Almond Roads, on Casey Road. The farm entrance on the south side of Casey Road will be clearly marked with signage and volunteer flaggers on the road.

There will be plenty of parking, with snacks, water, tools, and a porta-potty. Volunteers are not expected to be tree-planting experts since there will demonstrations of techniques prior to actual work. Do come dressed for the weather and the activity; sturdy shoes or boots are recommended. Bring your favorite shovel if you have one.

There is a parent permission slip for volunteers under the age of 18(attached).  Please RSVP to Damon Cederberg @This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

The work day will involve planting 125 native trees from nine different species as well as mulching, fencing and watering. The trees are the result of a grant the Township received from the Morton Arboretum.
